about me

I have been a creator of things my entire life. Jewelry has become my chosen medium. I am classically trained, and  have earned a BFA in Jewelry Design and Silvesmithing from Tyler School of Art.  I construct my pieces from a combination of hand fabricated sterling silver, carved or engraved glass , and gemstones. When completed, each piece is signed and copyrighted.

aboutmeMy most current body of work  is an exploration of the translucency and subtle fluidity of glass. I begin with solid pieces of raw optical and dichroic glass which I laminate, and cold work into my desired shape. I then engrave the surface of the glass with diamond and stone wheels to achieve subtle textures that refract the light reveal and optical depth of the material. The bottom layer of dichroic glass fills the pieces with glowing, opalescent color that changes depending on the angle the piece is held. I construct the sterling elements and then carve back into the glass so the metal and gemstones become an integral part of the design. My goal is for my materials to have a symbiotic existence. I take a soulful approach, and aim to make work with an obvious human touch.

My body of work is ever evolving. I draw inspiration from natural elements like water, ice, rocks and even clouds.  I pride myself on a body of work that features a mixture of innovative design, the highest quality craftsmanship, and wearability.

I currently live in New Jersey with my husband, glass artist Pavel Novak, and our 7 year old son.

I was part of an international experiment, The Contemporary Jewelry Exchange...an art project where 370 artists from around the world were paired, and asked to create a unique contemporary piece of jewelry for each other. I was excited to be part of the project, and thrilled to have been partnered with Luigi Mariani of Italy.
